Despite a long focal length, the telescope’s short optical tube assembly (OTA) makes it compact and highly portable. Light passes through a multi-coated Schmidt corrector plate, reflects off a spherical primary mirror to a secondary mirror, and then through a hole in the primary mirror to the focuser. This closed system prevents image-degrading air turbulence and dust intrusion.
The result is a high-contrast, high-definition image ideal for planetary observation. The versatile Schmidt-Cassegrain design supports both visual observing and astrophotography, with a wide range of accessories. Viewing from the OTA’s rear simplifies orientation, and it’s suitable for occasional terrestrial use like birdwatching. With an aperture ratio of ~f/10, it is also excellent for astrophotography.
Main mirror focusing provides a wide focusing range, compatible with most accessories. Dual pre-loaded ball bearings reduce “mirror shift.” High-quality materials like CNC-milled aluminum and stainless steel make the OTA durable yet lightweight, avoiding the need for a heavy mount.

Celestron NexStar Mount:
The ‘Travel Pro’ fork mount features a built-in stand and quick-detach OTA for easy transport—even as hand luggage. It’s compatible with other optics like solar telescopes or cameras.
The GoTo system with SkyAlign makes setup simple—just enter your location and time, aim at any three stars, and the mount aligns itself to access 40,000 objects. A flash EPROM hand controller supports software updates, while an optional GPS module automates location/time input.
Remote Control:
With the included NexRemote software, users can control the telescope via PC or laptop.
